Florida Man Shoots Up Heroin During Pursuit, Gets Ate Up by K9

A Florida man stopped during a pursuit to shoot up and eventually gets ate up by a Marion County K9.

On November 27, 2017 Marion County Sheriff deputies were out looking for suspect John Stephens. Stephens was wanted for grand theft, burglary, and some other charges. Stephens fled after a Marion County deputy located him at a family member’s house. He jumped into a relatives car and took off from the deputy.

Stephens leads police on a short pursuit that ends up back at the same family member’s house (returning the car, I guess?)

Little did Stephens know, the deputy leading the pursuit had a fur missile with him. Stephens bails on foot and the deputy pops his k9’s door. “Tipster” the k9 takes off after the suspect and the foot chase is over within seconds.

Stephens apologizes to the deputies after the cuffs were on, blaming his poor decisions on drugs.

“I’m on drugs and I didn’t know what I was doing,”

Authorities state that Stephens stopped and shot up heroin sometime during the pursuit and heroin was found in his vehicle. The short chase earned him some extra charges of fleeing and eluding, possession of heroin, and aggravated assault.
