Dual Wielding Doesn’t Work In Real Life

A Columbus, Ohio suspect is killed by Westerville Police after trying to kill an officer while dual wielding two pistols.

 

On 10/10/2013 12 year police veteran David Leighty initiated a traffic stop on 59-year-old John W. Montgomery. Officer Leighty saw a gun in the car upon his initial approach.

The officer gave several commands and Montgomery jumped out of the car with a pistol in each hand. Reports state that the suspect threatened the officer with a gun.

Officer Leighty fired several shots, fatally wounding Montgomery.

Notes:

  • Montgomery had served 18 years for voluntary manslaughter and drug crimes. He was released from prison in 2000.
