Phoenix, Avondale Police Kill Bank Robber Following Pursuit

A pursuit turns deadly for one Avondale, AZ bank robber after Avondale police and multiple other agencies are involved in a high speed pursuit.

On 9/6/2016 Officer responded to a bank robbery at Credit Union West in Avondale, AZ. An Avondale police officer was shot at after attempting a stop on a black SUV with three suspects inside.

Avondale initiated a pursuit and Phoenix police took over. Two suspects bailed on foot. Maricopa County k9 got one while the Phoenix police captured the other. 31-Year-Old Steven Delrio continued driving the black SUV.

Suspect: 31-year-old Steven Delrio

Multiple unmarked units performed a pit maneuver on the SUV. Plainclothes officers opened fire on Delrio, fatally wounding him.
