Miami-Dade Police Use Taser to Save Marine’s Life

On 11/15/2016 a former Marine called 911 and told them that he was going to hurt police officers. Miami-Dade police arrive on scene and find the man armed with a large knife. Officers talk to the Marine for several minutes, trying to get him to drop the knife.

Two officers initially approach him Tasers drawn. The officer seen in the boy camera has his Taser in his left hand and his service pistol in his right hand. The officer recording only has his Taser out. A third officer arrives on scene and can be seen approaching the man from behind.

The officer filming fires his Taser and it fortunately makes a good connection. The Taser thwarts the Marine’s plan of suicide by cop.
